The time it takes to repair a car can vary widely depending on the extent of the damage, the type of repair needed, and the availability of parts. A simple repair like replacing a battery can often be done in less than an hour, while more complex repairs could take several days .

If your car is experiencing a specific issue, such as a strange noise or warning light, it likely needs to be repaired. However, if your car is due for a regular maintenance task such as an oil change, brake pad replacement or filter change, it may simply need to be serviced.

We recommend leaving car repairs to trained and qualified mechanics. Attempting repairs on your own can be dangerous, cause further damage, and void your vehicle’s warranty. Modern cars require specialised knowledge and tools for proper diagnosis and repair, which our experienced mechanics provide. Trust us for high-quality workmanship and peace of mind.

Car Servicing

Car servicing is the regular maintenance and check-up of your car’s components and systems to ensure that they are functioning properly.

Regular car servicing helps prevent most major repairs by identifying and replacing worn parts before they cause problems. It also helps to maintain your car’s value and keep it running smoothly.

A car service typically includes an oil change, filter replacement, fluid checks and top-ups, brake inspection, and other checks and adjustments as needed.

The recommended frequency of car servicing varies depending on the make and model of the car, as well as its age and mileage. Generally, at ASAP Autocare we recommend having your car serviced every 10,000 KMs or every 6 months, whichever comes first.

The duration of a car service depends on the type of service and the car’s make and model. Minor services can take 1-2 hours, while major services may take several hours or a whole day.

Log Book Servicing vs General Servicing

Log book servicing is a type of car servicing that follows the manufacturer’s recommended service schedule as outlined in the car’s log book. General servicing is a more basic type of maintenance that may not follow the same schedule or include all the same checks and adjustments.

This will depend on the individual’s specific needs and circumstances.

Log Book Servicing is ideal for those with new or under-warranty cars, as it adheres to the manufacturer’s guidelines and maintains warranty coverage. It is also beneficial for people who want to preserve their car’s resale value and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for optimal performance and longevity.

On the other hand, General Servicing might be a better fit for people with older vehicles or those who no longer need to maintain warranty coverage. Our General Servicing includes a comprehensive safety check, in which we list out any safety issues found, provide an estimate for repairs, and documentation with photos and videos to clearly show our findings. This ensures that you have a thorough understanding of your vehicle’s condition and allows you to make informed decisions regarding its maintenance and care.

In summary, both Log Book and General Servicing have their advantages and cater to different needs. It’s important to consider your specific situation, vehicle, and priorities when choosing the type of servicing that best suits you. Rest assured, our General Servicing provides a high level of care and attention to detail, ensuring your vehicle remains in top condition.

Log book servicing isn’t legally required but is recommended by manufacturers for maintaining vehicle standards. As an authorized workshop, we provide log book servicing to protect warranties and general servicing as an alternative. Our skilled mechanics advise following the log book schedule for optimal performance and longevity.

We recommend having your car’s coolant system checked at least once a year or whenever you notice any signs of coolant leaks or engine overheating.
